Welcome to The Movement Collective.
The fitness industry talks a lot about community and connection but behind the scenes? It can feel isolating, competitive, and unsustainable.
You’re expected to show up.
Hold space...
Bring energy...
Stay inspired...
…often without enough support, stability, or somewhere to land yourself.
This space exists to change that.
Founded by Melissa Weldon, mentor, coach, instructor, and someone who deeply understands the reality of this work - The Movement Collective is a space for instructors to come together in a way that actually feels supportive.
Not to complain.
But to connect.
To share honestly.
To grow, without burning out.
A place where you don’t have to perform.
A place where your experience is understood.
A place where we move forward... together.
The Movement Collective
Where instructors come to be seen, supported, and sustained... together.
Why we exist
Freelance movement professionals often work alone, juggle multiple studios, and rarely have colleagues who truly understand the day-to-day realities of this work.
I started this because I’ve felt that isolation myself... moving between classes, studios, and schedules, and wishing there was a space where we could share wins, talk challenges openly, and support one another.
The Movement Collective is my way of creating that space.
It’s private, professional, and made by someone who knows what it’s like to teach, train, and navigate this work independently.
Here, you can:
-
Celebrate wins and share challenges without judgment
-
Exchange tips, resources, and opportunities
-
Connect with other instructors and coaches in your city (starting in London!)
Whether you teach yoga, cycling, somatic movement, or group fitness, this community is for professionals who want support, collaboration, and a place to be seen.
